Pieter-Jan Hannes: "I have been sleeping in a height tent for a year"

Following on altitude internship in Font Romeu, Pieter-Jan Hannes ran the 3000m today at the B meeting of Herentals. He clocked 7'54 ″ 06. With this Pieter-Jan Hannes did exactly 11 seconds faster than his previous record of two years ago.
“I have been back from Font-Romeu since 25 April and actually did not know very well what form I was in. The two hares had to run on a schedule for an end time of 8 minutes and I had deliberately not started too quickly. After 1600m the work of the hares was finished and I started to accelerate progressively. I am also very satisfied with my last kilometer. That lets the best hope for the 1500m ”Pieter-Jan said.

"I have been sleeping in an altitude tent for a year now, and the combination with an altitude training course is paying off.. Next week I will do the 800 m in Namur and the 800 m and 4 x 400 m in succession at the interclub. Then I leave on an altitude training trip to Font-Romeu. "After the internship, the 1500m follow four times normally, namely in Rabat, Nijmegen, on the Europa Cup and in Villeneuve D'Ascq. On 1 June Pieter-Jan wants to run the limit for the European Championship for promises (limit = 3'42 ″ 30) at the IFAM in Oordegem.
